Mr. Joya has over 10 years of experience in the construction field. As a current member of the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ team, Mr. Joya serves as Director of Pre-Construction overseeing all Pre-Construction operations and ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ’s network of licensed architects and engineers. In this position, he is responsible for performing plan and specification review for commercial and non-commercial buildings. As a certified EIFS inspector, he performs city required special inspections for new construction projects, detail/shop drawing mark-up, and quality assurance observation. As a waterproofing consultant he performs forensic and non-destructive testing for as-built reports as well as documenting AAMA accredited water penetration testing of fenestrations (windows, doors, louvers, etc.) for a variety of product types. Mr. Joya holds an AAMA Fenestration Master certification and an ICC Commercial Building Inspector certification.

Prior to joining ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ, Mr. Joya served as a Site Superintendent at the construction of several industrial parks and as a contractor for street and boulevard design, reconstruction, and maintenance for the City of Tijuana. His job responsibilities in these positions included scheduling of subcontractors, material verification, change order approvals, and shop drawing reviews. Mr. Joya has also served with SMT, Inc., performing soil and concrete sample testing.

Additionally, Mr. Joya has served with Specialized Construction as a Junior Surveyor, where he was responsible for plotting proposed lots and streets.

Mr. Joya holds the following Degrees & Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, from San Diego State University where he graduated with Honors (Magna Cum Laude). California-Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists Certified EIT. AA Degree in Architecture Technology, Southwestern Community College.

He has also an IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) Diploma. IIBEC – International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultant Member. ASCE – American Society of Civil Engineer Member.
